RUCO-DRY®
With Dendrimers for Ecological Waterproofing

RUCO-DRY® products consist of a hydrocarbon matrix and hyper-branched, star-shaped polymers (dendrimers).These dendrimers (patent applied for by RUDOLF) exhibit at their numerous ends hydrophobic residues with terminal CH₃-groups and can self-organise in the hydrocarbon matrix during temperature treatment, which leads to well-ordered co-crystallisation. The surface of crystallised CH₃-groups obtained results in equal water-repellent effects as conventional FC-finishes, without applying difficult-to-decompose persistent compounds. High permanence and extremely good abrasion resistance make RUCO-DRY® products the ideal impregnation agents for all areas that require very good water repellency under simultaneous mechanical strain.

Following the example of nature, a self-organisation process of hydrophobic dendrimers takes place in a hydrocarbon matrix, which causes the formation of well-ordered surface structures.
